Learning to build the site

Well, here i am again, trying to get all the information i have read to gel in my mind. I wish i had a magic wand and “poof” it’s done perfectly. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know i could pay someone to build it for me but that would take out all the fun of a challenge. This may be a slow approach, but look at all I will have learned along the way that I would have not learned if I had someone else do it for me. Stubborn old woman I am. The only fear is that I will make a change that I cannot figure out how to undo it. I say go for broke and just do it. Fly by the seat of your pants and figure it out. Nothing can be so hard that perseverance wont win in the end. Just keep swimming.

Never too old to learn

I am almost 62 years old and I began a journey in photography about 2 years ago. I had been shooting since age 18 but never took the camera out of program or “auto’ if you will. I wanted to shoot the night sky and that can’t be done in auto so I not only had to learn basic photography skills, I also had to learn how to shoot the night sky. I have been fascinated by the stars since i was a very young child. My dad would wake me in the middle of the night and take me out into my granny’s pasture in west Texas to look at the stars. He taught me the constellations and all about the Milky Way which could be seen every night during the summer. So, I read everything I could get my hands on and watched videos until I my head was spinning. I practiced. I read some more. I watched more videos and I practiced more. Oh hell, at my age, i was on overload but I didn’t give up. I also wanted to build a website so everyone could see my work but I had no idea how to do that. I read and watched videos on website building. Again, trying to absorb so much information in a very short period of time resulted in overload. But sleep my child and you shall absorb all you have been given. This is my AH-HAH moment. You are NEVER too old to learn. I have now mastered astro-landscape photography or at least I am producing good quality images consistently, and I have a website. It’s not complete, but it’s a start. Don’t give up on your dreams no matter how old you are. It may be harder at my age, but not impossible. Follow me on my journey and perhaps it will inspire you to begin your own. You are never too old to learn.
